I Knew
By: Yashy M.

An uncontrollable urge,
I knew
You'd be mine for keeps
From the first glimpse,
I knew

Just as I saw that face
Perfect in every mortal way
Laid imprinted in my mind
Like a permanent mark
Fade it, nothing could

But discarding the image away,
Away from my furthest memory
Ideally, it was a waste
To dwell on such foolish things
That of just some alluring creature

So I parted
With the thought
Of never seeing you again
But then a twist of fate
Lure us to convene
Somehow...
I've been pulled into your world

My insides experienced something
I could not describe
Had never felt
Never ponder on before

Something so unknown to me
Alienated like the planet
I was somehow forced to shelter in
And yet not against my will,
Not initially

You appeared frighten at first
But quickly turned
Dauntless towards me
As we'd quarrel in the passing
Of each one's encounter

It amused me
How a creature so frail
With virtually no strength
Could show so much boldness
So much inner storm within

Producing a thought
Where you were merely
Something new to conquer
But in turn I could not

For you had conquered,
Unrealized to me
My internal being
Forever captured me to you
